The Wedding Quilt

Finally!  It's finished and I have a picture!  Hope Bonita likes it.  It's so pretty, if it didn't have someone else's name and wedding date, I'd keep it.

Off today for a four day Memorial weekend.  LOVE these weekends.

Pretty Flowers

I decided on a whim that I need some color on our porch.  Got a few pretty flowers.  Lowe's was pretty picked over.  Dang it.  I'm thinking a trip to Home Depot might be in order.  

Mountains, Shop Hop and More

I had a fabulous time in the mountains!  My friends, Rita and Laura DeMarco from Log Cabin Patchworks, invited me up to take part in the North Georgia Shop Hop.  What a fun weekend.  There were 7 shops taking part and Laura and I hopped to each one all in one day (including their shop)!  In a little Miata convertible no less.  Sooo much fun.  Did I take any pictures?  Of course not!  I left my camera in the trunk all day.  Doh!

Anyway, it was a great time and the shops and shop owners were fabulous.  I will post a link to all the shops we visited that have websites in case you get up to that area of Georgia. 

I did get some bad news while I was visiting.  Rita and Laura have decided to close the shop.  Rita just turned 70 and wants to TRY and retire. . . again.  LOL!  And Laura doesn't want to run the shop without her.  I don't blame her.  Soooo, Log Cabin Patchworks is closing (a group staff picture).  Sniff, sniff.

Lots of Embroidery

I'm finally back and look what fun things I've been working on.  A new burp cloth.  Cute, cute.

Also, some new towels for a friend of a friend.  The beginning. . .

The second glass is almost finished and then I embroidered a name on each towel.  

I'm heading to Blairsville, GA on Friday for a weekend of Quilt Shop Hopping.  Very excited!  I will take lots of pics.  My friends, Rita and Laura DeMarco (mother and daughter), own a wonderful quilt shop in Hiawassee, GA called Log Cabin Patchworks.  If you're in the area this weekend, please stop by.  I know they would love to see you.

I'm also picking up the Irish Chain quilt I made for my friend, Bonita.  Very excited to see it!

The Wedding Quilt

No pictures today because I want it to be a surprise for my friend, Bonita.  The quilt was shipped today to my quilter friend in Georgia, Joanie!   Yay!!  Whew, big sigh of relief.  The binding is already cut but I just need to piece it together and get it ready. 

Busy, busy weekend but I still managed get a lot done.  Arena Football game on Friday night, going away party on Saturday and then a jewelry party on Sunday.  Wonderful, wonderful weekend.

iPad - Cool!

Yes, we caved.  It's ok, this thing is very cool.  I find myself using it more and more.  Sunday morning, coffee on the porch, iPad in the lap - read the news, surf the net, etc.   Love it!

Leaders & Enders

I love Bonnie Hunter.  This is her new book Adventures with Leaders & Enders that I just bought.  LOVE IT!  She's a master at how to use your stash.  If you don't have this, get it.  Both of her books, this one and Scraps and Shirtails, have great ideas for quilts and stash busting.  Oh, if I only had more time. . .  (sigh).

Easter Ducklings

 This mother duck has been bringing her ducklings to our backyard to eat every year for the last several years.  This is the 2010 brood.

April 1st

April Fool's Day, yep, that's the first day I started with the Jaguars.  No joke. 

Today is my 8 year anniversary with the team.  Yay for me!
