A Beautiful Place

After a very long 9 hour flight from Atlanta, we arrived in Honolulu.  DVS' cousin picked us up and promptly gave us a tour of Hickam Air Force Base and then over to Ford Island on Pearl Harbor (which is where he and his wife are stationed).

The base housing on Ford Island is wonderful.  The homes are only a couple of years old and almost everyone has a water view.  The tower in the second picture has recently been restored and almost everything on this island is historical.  A lot of the hangars on both Ford Island and Hickam have been left as is, even the bullet holes are still there since that fateful day in 1941.  It's really, really something to see.

We were fortunate to get tickets to the Pro Bowl on Sunday so we headed over the stadium early.  Two of our players, Maurice Jones-Drew and Montell Owens, along with our team mascot and one of cheerleaders, Heather, made the trip out.

Ok, more to come!  Back soon.
