For Hannah

First, Happy Father's Day to my dad, father-in-law and my two brothers.  You guys rock!

Made these pillow cases for my friend's daughter, Hannah.  She had open heart surgery on Thursday to replace her pulmonary valve.  She did extremely well and she's now sitting up in bed and talking according to Angela.  You see, Hannah is only 11 or 12 years old.  She's had the condition since she was born and I know Mike and Angela knew this day would come eventually and were concerned.  We're all saying prayers for her quick recovery.

Hopscotch

This is Hopscotch by Black Cat Designs.

I started this quilt last year and decided I finally needed to finish it.  It's an easy, fun quilt to make but it's one of those that I have to work on a little bit at a time.  Lots of little pieces, know what I mean?  Anyway, I got it back out yesterday and I've made considerable progress - well, considering I didn't even have all the blocks done yesterday that is.

The pattern shows Fall colors - I went with bright.

Can't wait until it's finished.  I think I might donate it for my friend who works at the Animal Shelter here in town.  They're having a fundraiser in a few months and she told me a quilt would be a great auction item.  I kind of agree!

A Tea Quilt

My friend's granddaughter, Chloe, is graduating high school next week.  She's an extremely smart young lady.  She always got good grades in school and she recently earned a full scholarship to the University of North Florida.  I know Teresa is so proud of her.  A couple of weeks ago, Chloe mentioned to Teresa that one of her favorite memories was the tea parties they used to have when she was little.  What a sweet thing to say and I know how touched Teresa was she remembered.   Anyway, one of Chloe's graduation presents is a tea set from her grandmother - so I thought a little tea quilt was in order.

Showing my PKM love here.  I only use my PKM fabric for special occasions; I figured this was one of them.
