Another Topper - Almost Done

I've been practicing my quilting again - this time on this little table topper.

I decided on straight and diagonal lines since the pattern is very geometric.

Not much else going on.  DVS and I went to see Van Halen last Monday night.  It was great, although, they only played a couple of their old songs - most of the concert was from their new album.  David Lee Roth hasn't changed and Eddie is, in my opinion, one of the best guitar players out there.

The NFL draft is Thursday night so I'll be out of commission for a couple of weeks.  The draft ends Saturday night and then it's all about making arrangements to bring the rookies in for their camp in May.  Lots of paper work.

Ok, more later!

Another Baby Quilt

As promised, here is the quilt I made for my friend's baby.  I'm loving these quilts!!  Soooo soft and so fun and easy to make.  You can find the pattern here.  If you would like to check out the blog, it's Fresh Lemons.

Anyway, back to the baby quilt.  The backing fabric is leftover from Dana's bridesmaids' dresses from her wedding.  She had given me the fabric years back hoping I could use it.

Thanks to Dana for getting a picture for me!  She also sent me one of this little wall hanging that I made for her daughter almost 3 or 4 years ago.  I completely forgot about this one.  I'm now planning on a second one for her son - who, again, is already 5 months old.

I had such a great week at work.  Things have finally settled down a bit and I love my new boss.  Sunday, April 1, 2012 was my 10 year anniversary with the team.  Yesterday, my department and the other Executive Assistants surprised me with a cake!  If that wasn't enough, my boss said I was leaving at 2:00 so the girls could take me to Happy Hour.  Awesome!

Talk to you soon!

Time Flies

Yikes!  I'm not sure where March went but I'm sure I was doing something important.

Actually, I was fortunate enough to get tickets to see Jersey Boys at the Florida Times Union Center with a couple of my friends.  It was AWESOME!!  If you get a chance to go, go.  I think I was the youngest patron in the audience, but that didn't matter.  We all know and love the songs from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and everyone in the audience was singing along.  It was a great evening.

I put together another baby rag quilt for my friend, Dana.  Of course, her baby is now 5 months old.  Oh well, better late than never.  I forgot to take a picture but she's going to get one for me so I can post.

On my walk today, I ran across these two -
I quickly took a picture and moved on.  That's what he was saying - "move on missy".  There are actually about 2 dozen geese in the pond near the stadium.  It's pretty cool but you definitely don't want to get too close.  They're kind of protective of their women.

Ok, more later!
